Don't let the abuse get to you. I've been cutting my own hair for about 10 years. If you're the kind of person who remembers at 11:00 Sunday night that you really needed a haircut before you leave on that business trip Monday morning, its your only logical choice. And as long as your "style" is something simple like "#3 clipper everywhere", its pretty tough to screw it up.

Trim my own beard with clippers.
Comb my hair with a razor, so no worries there. :)

I'll guess a lot of the guys cut their own hair. I don't know when the last time I had my hair cut by someone else was. Probably not quite 10 years ago. Once you do it enough times, you can do it without a mirror.

Actually, I don't keep my heads shaved "all the time", so often it grows out enough I use clippers on it, then shave it. Two sets of clippers, small beard trimmer and regular hair trimmers (for head)...both decent Wahl models.

almost 15 years of using clippers myself. started doing it to save money in college. then as my hair started thinning... i realized no other hair style would work for me so i just kept shaving it. i have no idea how much haircuts even cost anymore.

With clippers, same as front. :innocent:
Serious answer: Use mirrors...I have medicine cabinet with 3 mirrors side by side, ones on outside open to I can easily see back of head on either side.

I've been shaving my head for so many years that I don't even need a mirror any more. I usually just shave in the shower.

self hair cutting is only possible with shaved heads. and shaved heads are only possible with well shaped heads.

Clippers and a mirror. #3 on the sides. #6 on the top. Mohawks are easy.

Wuss! Anything above a #2 is basically same length as a standard haircut. Quit being a wuss, clipper with no guard, then shave with razor!!
I am my own barberI guess that's better than being your own grandpaw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYlJH81dSiw&feature=related)...........

I cut Mr Coffeecake's hair, but his clippers are ancient and he's broken all the guides on it, except for the angle trimmer. Since he looks kinda goofy bald (his skull is all bumpy) I cut it with the angle trimmer (fun). He's too cheap to buy new guides or pay someone to do it. Although I do have fun giving him half-mohawks and shaving patterns when he asks me to do it :D.
I am sorely tempted to buy him a flowbie (or "suck-cut" as it is known here) after viewing the destruction wrought upon our small bathroom.
I try to avoid haircuts as much as possible.

Oh, it's just one of many reasons. But since I'm not a trekkie, no Dungeons and Dragons.... Ive got to make up for it somewhere. :thumb:
hehe had an ex boyfriend who had a few drinks and decided to do that - with scissors and his new trimmer/hair cut thing he bought at a flea market
Hehe he showed up at my house the next day wearing a full length black trench coat - big black sunglasses and no hair on his pure white and rather large head.
Mom and I were outside and we ... just had no words as he got out of his car and walked over and stated "not one word" - at which Mom and I lost it and laughed - evidently he woke up after his drunken hair removal evening to find he was missing a sideburn, had a "square" patch on the back of his head that was down to the head - and square - and other uneven mis-matched things so he had to take it all off.
If he had a scythe - he coulda taken Death's place hehe
