Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Im very interested in fixed, rode one and fell in love; and am ording a Soma Rush frame. Just wondered if you guys can tell me the story behind people putting a card in the back spokes? Just any card? And why do I sometimes see tape on the top tube of some bikes? not to carry them I hope. Can you suggest a good online source for fixed parts and if so what is a good wheel set? thanks!

card = "I competed in an alleycat." Kind of like a badge. I have seen one or two people who have non-race associated cards in their spokes.
tape = ding-proofing/urban camo

depends - seen all sizes. not sure there is a 'standard' size, but most are around 3"x5"-ish....don't quote me
