I have been using Panaracer Dart and Smokes for years and it's time for a new set.
WTB's Velociraptor looks like a great tire but since I do half riding on street and half in muddy conditions I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a tire that does well in mud and half way decent on pavement?
The IRC Mythos XC ll looks like it might have a little less rolling resistance? and still aggressive enough in the muck. What do you think? Thanx
I don't think you'll find a tire that does both well. Tires that do well in mud have tall knobs spaced far apart. Good street tires are exactly the opposite. If you get something right in between...you end up with an all around decent trail bike tire.
Street - Kenda K-Rad
Mud - Kenda King of Traction
All Round - Kenda Nevegal / Excavator
The Nevegal will roll better on the street, but the Excavator grips better in the slop.

Those Excavator's look pretty good.
^^ They work even better.

Where is the best place to buy the excavators? The ones I can find online are fairly expensive?
