Does anyone have information on whether the trail has been re-routed back to its earlier state such that it crosses below the dam and connects to Alma Bridge Rd. east of the dam? If not, do you know when this is supposed to occur. According to the Santa Clara Valley Water District website: www.valleywater.org, the construction project for the new tunnel was completed back on October 20th. I don't know if this included routing the trail to its pre-construction path.

Hey Steve, I rode it two weekends ago (on Halloween) and also last Thursday night and it has been re-routed. If you look at the openstreetmap.org cycle map it shows the trail in green cutting diagonally across the back of the dam. Link here:

This stretch is actually paved until right before it joins up with the main LG Creek trail. It's a nice improvement from the really steep gravelly route before.

...It's a nice improvement from the really steep gravelly route before.Cool! Thanks for the info. Going up that stretch wasn't too easy with road bike gearing. It was hard to stay seated the entire way up and you'd lose traction if you tried to stand.
