Hello, having done usual evening training i thought of triathlonist's heart rate. Since i am a newbie in thriathlon i am wondering what hr u guys have in calm condition.
The lowest hr as far as i know cyclists have from 30-210. I got 53-198 myself. I am simply wondering of how triathlon can improve one's heart and lungs. Thank you

I've seen my resting heart rate in bed as low as 39, but everyone is different. Triathlon will lower your heart rate as much as cycling if you are consistant in your training - It's just a result of your heart becoming more efficent at pumping blood. It takes time to see the change.
I think some people get to hung up on resting heat rate... There was a olympic track star who had a RHR of 70+.
hope this helps.

In bed mine will drop below 40, sitting in a chair it's usually 53-57, riding my bike I have seen it hit 192.

49-202, I can keep it above 180 for 45 min or more, and last night was working between 182 and 200 for 15 min.
The best part is, Im not even in top shape yet!
44 rhr, 202 maxhr, 183 lactate threshold. Give or take a beat or two.

I strapped on a monitor for the first time yesterday in Sport and Recreation at school, and we did a bunch of running sprints along the hockey turf. As I was slowing down from the final sprint, I looked at my momitor and it said 212! Yee haw! My resting I think may be around 50 or less even.

I agree,it's is not a measure of performance.

Ofc rhr cannot be considered as a measure of performance of an athlete, but it is a measure of one's physical condition (heart) regarding endurance in sports, like cycling (road), swimming, marathon and triathlon. The example of track star is important, but if the star was a sprinter his rhr is adequade.
2001 - cycling - Paris-Roubaix (254km) - terrible weather conditions and awesome speed - winnder Servais Knaven 31-33 rhr at the time of the race. While famous track star Bradley McGee has about 43-55 rhr, still he is a super ITTér.
