Mountain Biking - Tall guy, regular bike

There is a 19" rockhopper on CList and I'm 6'7"
Should I even bother looking at it, or will it be too small no matter what my body dimensions are?
I would really enjoy a mountain bike as having a road bike with lots of trail around me sucks.
I really don't want to spend more than $200, which is asking a lot, but this one is $150 for a 2004 Specialized Rockhopper in "great condition".

And if it won't "fit" me, how bad would it be just to deal with a smaller frame?
Also, am I pretty much limited to buying new, or finding another freak on CList selling their old bike since my height?

I'm just curious because I'm really interested in mountain biking, and have rented them before, but, I cannot afford to buy one new.

The RockHopper is a pretty bare bones MTB.
But frame size largely depends on the type of riding you want to do. Long swooping corners or bumpy twisty with stunts.
Guys as big as you ride BMXs. But usually not very far.
Go try it out. See if you can extend the seatpost far enough to pedal properly.
Handlebar stems may be changed to stretch you out a bit, but if you go too far, your center of gravity will be too far forward.

I'm 6' 3" and love my 20" frame. I also have a 36" inseam. I need the taller frame. But I have seen seat posts that must be 2 feet tall. If you can't make it work you can always resell it at that price.
