Commuting - Good god it's humid this week.

I know I haven't been around since my "promotion" at work but I'm still commuting and god it's been humid these past couple of days. I got to work and from 9-5, my shirt was still damp even though I had it hanging inside an air conditioned office. By the time I got home, it was completely soaked through, I had sweat dripping off my seat.

Tell me about it! We're under "Heat Advisory" here in Houston (not uncommon this time of year), with about 98 degrees and a heat index of 106 - 108. The mornings are not _that_ hot, but the humidity is WAY up there. When I walk through the security station at work they shake their heads in disbelief, I am soaked in sweat from head to toe, literally running of me in streams.

This is the first summer I've commuted by bike every single day. I haven't driven a car since sometime in April I believe, and that was only a few times.

This is why I love my Coolmax clothes. I wear a Coolmax t-shirt and socks, regular bike shorts, goretex shoes and a Coolmax headsweat cap under my helmet, and bike gloves. Everything dries quickly. I carry clean dry clothes and change after cooling off for 10-15 minutes and cleaning up in the restroom.

When you guys admonish me for complaining about the heat in a couple of months' time, I'm going to point you in the direction of this thread.

Same here in Kansas City. In fact, as I write this at a quarter after one in the morning, it's 86 with a heat index of 95. A far cry from upstate New York where I'm originally from. Also a far cry from Phoenix, where I also used to live, lol. I've been a big wet ass lately and taking the bus. I don't trust my physical condition enough in this weather to ride even my short 8 mile commute in the afternoon. Man, after vacation I got fat and lazy, time to start sweating this stuff off! :D

I can't wait untill October when the temperatures will finally stay in the lower 80s. Like Houston, I am in College Station, TX, we are looking at temperatures around 97 to 98 with a heat index of around 105 to 110. I have to carry a change of clothes. There is no way not to sweat, no matter how slow you go, in this humid heat. The cold front later this week is expected to drop temperatures to around 92 to 95 which will help some.

bah. the stink keeps people of non importance away. it is usefull.

Damn... ok maybe I shouldn't complain.. it's 85 and 98% humidity here. Definitely hot above 90.

According to my computer it was 94, and very humid. No complaints though, I would much rather have this than winter stuff.

It was only 97 in Dallas today. What's the deal? I gotta be ready for the Hotter 'n Hell Hundred at the end of the month.

DON'T SAY THE "M" WORD!!! So far this season I've had a grand total of zero attacks. Normally they would have been on my case for three weeks or so by now. You've jinxed me! Thanks a lot!

Yeah, thank god, wash away all this humidity, I can't take it no more!
This weekend should be low 70's, sunny, low humidity, beautiful. :)
