...but for my VI stoker it was a great achievement for his attempt and in 36C deg.

Sat 14th Nov, we did a 100 km Audax ride with 4 other tandem teams and 150+ solos. Undulating course, we actually out-climbed some solos on the major climb and down hills were an absolute blast...very addictive. My stoker didn't miss a beat, strong all the way and encouraging in the hard parts, we had a great time and I think he's now hooked...he probably wants us to do the PBP next!!

It was nice to ride along with the other tandems and chat, very funny at times, especially when I did my Connie Francis rendition of "Where the boys are".

Why didn't I get a tandem years ago instead of road racing solos?

Better not tell him that PBP is a very tandem friendly course! Lots of rolling hills. I'll probably be doing it on my tandem this time!

Well done to you as a team and a great effort for your stoker. I also ride with Audax Australia and am used to the longer distances, but my partner (stoker) is building up to longer distances.

I think one of the things that slows us down, is that we're smiling so much! We also wish we'd started it much sooner, but anyway, we're doing it now and loving it.

You can set your sights on the Alpine Classic!
