I can remember how I got a wild hair to run for Mayor of Barrow in a moment of mid-lfe crisis, and how one of my opponents laughed at me and said that I would never get elected, especially since I rode that stupid looking bike all over town. Well...he got 50 votes, and I got 800 which was twice as much as the incumbent. Anyway, there after, more then one wag called me the "incumbent on a recumbent." I even won a second term before I decided that it was someone elses turn to have all the fun!

And here I thought that recumbent riders were Constitutionally prohibited from running for public office.

I've had a lot of people look at me as if I'm a UFO alien, so maybe that's true. Ya gotta be a citizen to hold office.

It amazes me how many people confuse "recumbent exercise bike" with "recumbent bike". I get the impression they don't know what "recumbent" means, and just assume it relates to stationary exercise bikes. But as a general rule, if the Craigslist listing says something like "Recumbent Bike- $150", that's what it is.
