Has anyone had any experience with Problem Solver's Headset Reducers? I can't quite figure out how these things work by looking at the images or reading the sparse written description. Do they fit into the head tube as pictured (left one plugging into the bottom of the head tube - causing the internal diameter to be lessened? or is the right-hand one the one that sits at the base of the head tube, changing the diamter, allowing a smaller (1" in this case) headset fit around it?

For those of you who have tried this, does the finished product sit flush and fit well together? Any diagram of installation or picture of finished product would be super helpful. Thanks!

Is there a reason why you want to reduce it to 1"? 1 1/8" seems to be standard nowadays.

I have no knowledge of said product, but I can't read the title of your post correctly. My brain insists on changing it to Sonic Reducer.

they are pressed into your headtube, one on the bottom, one on the top. then your smaller headset (and, therefore, smaller fork and stem) are pressed into the reducers.

i don't have any pictures, but it looks... alright. especially if you have a newer style black headset (as opposed to something "classy" it kinda looks like there is a spacer between your frame and headset, and obviously your headset is going to look smaller in proportion to your headtube.

it might be better to ask in the mechanics forum. even if this is going on a fixed gear, it really has nothing to do with fixed gears or single speeds. you are much more likely to get people telling you how stupid it will look and generally insulting you than actual help

I used one on my Cannondale MTB, while waiting for the Headshok to get serviced. They're great if you want to add some stack height, and don't mind a creaky headset.

Have a shop show you a frame that's just had the head tube faced, and you'll quickly see why this isn't the greatest idea.
