OK here goes, some friends and I are making our first epic ride this weekend. It will take about 5 hours to complete (we are riding the South Boundary Trail in New Mexico). Can you guys and girls help mewith what I might want to take with me on the ride. There will be no places to stop for food or water along the way so I know we need to take that. But what could we take to eat, and will 100ml be sufficient for this ride? Thanks for all your advice.

You'll probably need more water than 100 ml. I drink almost that much on shorter 2.5 to 3 hour rides. Bring more if you can.
Drink before you're thirsty, Eat before you're hungry!
Figure a powerbar or similar food about every hour to 90 mins.
Sounds like a lot of fun!

100ml every 2.5 to 3 hours? A 100ml wouldn't last that long. I think he meant 100 oz.
100 ml is one tenth of a liter! since i'd drink a liter in an hour, easily, i think fox rider is right; he didn't mean 100 ml.

Agreed, 100 oz is more like it, but still probably not enough h20 for New Mexico and 5 hours.

I'm 6'4" 225, I would probably drink about 2 liters on a ride like that so I would probably carry 3 to be safe. I'd eat maybe 1 cliff bar but I'd keep 3 in my pack. I also carry a small first aid kit. It's sound like it will be a great ride. Are you staying in a hotel or cabin, etc... or do you live in the area. I found this, it looks awesome! I just did a 7 1/2 hour, 40 mile ride yesterday. (Paradise Mine in Invermere, BC). It started out in the town of Wilmer, elevation 2755' and climbed 10 miles up an access road to Panarama skil hill where the trailhead is. From there it was an 8 mile grind up to the mine site and another 2 up to the ridge overlooking the Columbia Valley, elevation 8800+ feet. The ride back was an exhilerating 20 miles of downhill back to Wilmer. (pics later)
For this ride I took a 2 litre camelback of water and a 750 ml bottle of sport drink. I also ate 3 Power Gels on the way up. The biggest factor on how much liquid to carry will be the heat you are riding in. The more you sweat, the more liquid you will need. Fortunately for me, yesterday was overcast and cool, but had it been warmer I probably would have taken a 2nd water bottle.
Good luck on your ride.
