Hi guys,

First of all great forum I really enjoy reading most days.

I have recently bought myself a bike to convert into a fixed gear for mostly city commuting, it's a peugeot premiere but I have no idea what year it's from and more importantly what BB it has.

I've tried identifying it from images on the web but can't really find anything.

Below is the link to the ebay win; contains pictures

Many thanks in advance.

Does it say 103 Carbolite on the seat tube?

well to be honest its my first road frame but it seems to fit me fine! I can't look at the bike right now so I didn't know if anyone would know off the top of their head. I'll have a look at the bike shortly and get back to you.

Thanks guys!

I only ask the fit question because it seems like a lot of people buy vintage frames for conversions and get so caught up in a particular deal for a particular bike that they fancy and they forget to check sizing. I've been there—the first road bike I bought was a 1985 Nishiki sized at about 50-52 cm... I usually ride 56-58.

In any case, this forum is only going to be helpful with questions specifically about converting—and you'll be lucky if it's helpful even for that.
Any other questions you have, you're going to be much better off asking the Classic and Vintage forum. I'm sure there are people that'll be able to identify this bike within seconds, but they don't hang out in SSFG.

Can't figure out the exact year/model without more info on tubing/group/serial number.

Def. mid-1980's tho.

Thanks again guys,

I've managed to get some information,

Y905 04893 that was on the bottom of the bike.

BS6102 was on a sticker on the bike

And there was a sticker saying made by Peugeot in Bedford, just because it's made in England does that mean it's got English components? As in BB and any other parts?
