Just saw the Versus coverage last night. Very intriguing. I really enjoyed it. I'd call it refreshing. Some of those guys had pretty old looking rides. And maybe not so well maintained? Cramming bikes in an old hatchback instead of the plush team/support cars. Roads that looked a bit on the rough side from time to time. One guy caught malaria, couldn't eat and had the runs and kept riding...for a while anyway.

Looks like a lot of guys who really liked bike racing to me. Cool!

It was different, that's for sure. It was good that the Europeans went to race there. The fans were pretty enthusiastic, too. Seemed like they really enjoyed the racing.
What's up with the Morrocans? What made them so fast?

The Tour du Faso showed me that its not all about the best equipment, sponsors, or even roads...its about heart, balls, and loving to ride a bike, thats the essence of it all...
