What is the deal with this? I am familiar with Black Metal, both Scandinavian and otherwise, and I am familiar with being a fan of music no one else likes. What I am curious about is the fans. It seems like everyone who listens to Death and Black metal are like, in their Thirties. It seems to me like the time to dress in black t-shirts with skulls on it and listen to atrocious music with no melody was in junior high school, not almost middle age. What is the deal with these people?

It's crap, by the way, i just don't see why the fans are people who should be old enough to know better.

I listen to Lamb of God, Decapitated, etc. and spend my work day wearing crisp pressed trousers and a button down shirt.

Could be worse: they could be boring middle-aged people doing the same **** all the other boring middle-aged people do and complaining about the ones who don't

Seriously, they should have all grown up and followed the marketing progression through to Kenny G by now.

I think it just gives the 30 year old males something to do while their wives and girlfriends are off at Twilight movies and book signings.

Listening to music just to piss other people off is something most people grow out of in their twenties.

I just read the post because I didn't know what "Black Metal" was. I guess I have lived a sheltered life.
