Hey does the Sugino Messenger Crank Arms would work with the Sugino 75 Chainring?

or with the FSA Pro Track Chainring?

it won't. There is a measurement when it comes to cranks and chainrings called BCD (bolt circle diameter). Basically, if you draw a line through the center of each chainring bolt and connect it so that it makes a circle, this measurement is the diameter of that circle.

Messenger crankarms have a BCD of 130mm. Sugino 75 cranks and chainrings have a BCD measurement of 144mm. 144mm is the standard BCD for track cranks/'rings. You would be wise to go ahead and get something w/ 144mm BCD

Andel makes cranks for like $100 that are 144BCD. You are still gonna have to get a BB. I think the best deal in 144BCD cranks is the Omnium crankset from BikeIsland. For $165, you get cranks, chainring, and BB.

all the 144BCD crankarms are expensive. Honestly, the cheapest option is to get an Andel for 100 bucks and then a BB for $20, but I say just spend the extra $45 and get Omniums.

I didn't mean to make you think you HAVE to get 144BCD. There are lots of cheap fixed gear cranks out there (pake, eighthinch, origin8, fsa vero), but all of them are 130BCD. I'm sure you would be fine w/ those, but if you ever plan on having a nice crank setup you are going to have to move to 144BCD anyways. Besides, most of those setups are gonna cost you like $80-$100 by the time you include BB.

wait for deals.. sugino 75s often go for really cheap. recently some GTB's got sold off from our local velodrome.. they came stock with s75 crank, chainring, and bb. the bikes were $350 complete. plus i see sugino 75 cranks + ring for ~$100 quite a bit. so i would just wait around.

What's wrong with Sugino Messengers? They are fine!!!

unless you are this dude then you probably don't need them.
