and can't figure out where you are?

Did that this morning. Had a really strange dream and thought I was back in CO. I noticed there was someone in my bed with me which freaked me right the hell out and then I noticed shoes on the door. I pulled away and tried to figure out why there would be shoes on the door and then realized I was with <3 2 Ride, in her house. Weird...

Shoes on the door? Your doing it wrong...that should be underwear.
And, yeah, I've woken up in places I have no clue how I got there....but the court orders prevent me from saying more.

It hasn't happened in a few years, but yeah, I've had that before. It's one of the strangest feelings.

It seems to happen more when you take a nap so you are also waking up at "the wrong time".....it intensifies the effect.

A while ago I fell asleep and work up at around 6 at night and freaked out because I thought it was the morning. I started rushing and getting ready. My surroundings didn't help at all because it was dark at both times and my mom looked like she was getting ready too or something but she wasnt.

The "where the hell am I!" part? or the "realized I was with <3 2 Ride, in her house" part? ;)

Ever wake up... and can't figure out where you are?Yep. One of the scariest moments of my life.

Woke up sprawled out on a bed in a hotel room, and couldn't figure out where I was or how I got there for a good ten minutes. Far as I can figure, I got up in the middle of the night, tripped on something in the dark, fell, and wanged my head on a nightstand hard enough to knock myself out. I had the mark on my face to back up that series of events. Fun.

This just happened a few days ago. I was so exhausted at work that I fell asleep while taking a certification test on the computer. I woke up, saw the screen in front of me and freaked, thinking I was in bed and wondering how the hell I got into this room with bright lights and a computer screen waiting for me to type in the answer.

I thought I was going to get busted.

I did past the test 100% though. :thumb:

Siu, just don't try that during a driving test!

A former co-worker claimed that he once woke up in Hawaii without knowing how he got there. He attributed it to a blackout from drinking too much. (Yes, he was an alcoholic.)

I've come home from work, fell asleep, woke up at dusk, thought it was dawn, and began to get ready to work. My wife said, "Just where the hƎll do you think you're going." It then hit me... doh!

Hell isn't censored. And if it was, you'd be violating the guidelines. Just sayin'. :p

I scared the crap out of Mr Coffeecake once. We had been living together for a good 10 months when I woke up and for some reason regressed to when I was in high school. There was a large hairy man next to me and I screamed in surprise. Needless to say the SO was not particularly pleased at being woken by an assault on his auditory organs. He did think it was pretty funny after he finished waking up (about 2 hours later.)

I once woke up from a nap and looked out the window as I layed on the couch and thoughts the clouds were water. I was totally freaked out for a second or two.

I was sleeping soundly when awakened by my ex punching me in her sleep.

I had also moved 3 times in 3 months, and made about 4 trips back to MN in 9 months, where I'd stay btw the BF's and my mom's. it got a little craaazy.

I have had it happen a few times now that I moved out of mom's bsmt in October.

Its scary, but the relief once the realization sets in is nice. :)

Back in college I went to a party at some friends' place (8 people shared the house), ended up drinking too much and passed out on the couch. My friends picked me up and put me in one of the bedrooms of a housemate who was out of town. I had never seen this person's room before, and when I woke up I didn't know where I was or how I got there. The window didn't look out on anything familiar, just an alley. I stayed in there for about 2 hours until I heard a familiar voice and realized I must be either a) still at the party house, or b) at another house but at least left with someone I know.

I haven't had any recent bouts with it, but I used to have terrible issues with somnambulism (sleepwalking). I would get up in the middle of the night and do all sorts of household chores in my sleep: Vacuum my apartment, wash the dishes, do my laundry, etc. The main problem is that I wouldn't always put clothes on after getting out of bed to do these things.
The worst episode was coming to, surrounded by police and neighbours, naked in my parking lot with a handful of quarters. I had walked to the next building where the change machine was located so I could do my laundry.
