well, i've been on clipless pedals for about a week and a half now and they feel great for the most part, except when i'm standing and pedalling...i'm on nike hautacam shoes with shimano m520's(came with the trek). there's alot of float from what i can feel. every time i stomp down, i feel like i'm going to clip out :/ i have a tendency to underpronate(supinate) when i walk around (read: i dont put much pressure on my arch) and i think that's what's happening here too...is there anything i can do to fix this without going to a $200 insole? i use them for skiing, but i want to stay away from another custom set just for biking :/

at the moment, it's sounds mental. Have you actually popped out of your pedal? If so, try tightening the tension.

What kind of pedals? Speedplays have alot of float and have that sensation. It will eventually go away.

If things feel loose up the tension. I have been on clipless pedels for 15+ years and have felt a big difference in brands/ over time.
