Howdy all,

Been lurking for a bit, and finally registered.

I'm in a position where I need to get down to one bike. Since I still plan on racing, I need a bike that can do a bit of everything.

I'm seriously looking at the Soloist. What I'm curious about, especially from those who live where the roads suck, and tend to go up hill, is what do you think of this bike?

I live in Salt Lake City, the roads aren't great, and there are plenty of mountains, so many of my rides are more vertical than horizontal.

Please, give me your impressions on this bike.

For what it's worth, I'd be replacing an Orbea XLR8R and a C-dale Caad 4 Aero (which is my TT bike).

Thanks in advance.

The Cervelo Soloist is a excellent bicycle. If you live on crappy roads and are going to be going on lots of acents you might want to try the carbon R2.5. That will absorb the bumps and is really light for the climbs. The R2.5 is a bit more expensive but it is a very stiff and very very durable carbon bike. Back to the Soloist, my dad rides a soloist and I have ridden it. It has to be one of the best all around bicycles built. Not the lightest. The Soloist is great but the R2.5 is really great. A purchase of a soloist would not dissapoint you AT ALL! Just my 2 cents.

Just remember that Team CSC used Cervelos in the Tour de France, with plenty of mountains, and I think the bike that was used the most was the Soloist. :)
