Northern California - Great bike painting experience

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Took a frame and fork into Joe's Bike Painting Shop in Watsonville, Ca. for touch ups on underside of fork crown and some very tiny chip dots on the down tube.
Took it in on a Thursday late afternoon and got it back early Monday the following week. That's really only Friday and Saturday. Just in two days, Joe handed over and brand new looking frame with a clear coat. His fee was very reasonable and the work was outstanding!
This is my second experience with this shop and I am very satisfied!

I would never use Joe's! That guy couldn't even put on a decal straight let alone a paint job. Surprised you didn't find dirt in your paint as in an earlier thread:

diatribe, but not unwarranted

This sounds like it's an inside job of pimping for Joe's Paint. This poster doesn't sound like he's has much creditability. First a newbie starting out with his first posting and right to the first thread of pimping Joe's Paint? Come on, if this isn't an inside job by Joe's then I don't know what is. Sounds like maybe Joe put him up to this or this is one of Joe tribes! Get Real!

Why would you say this post is pimping for Joes?
All it says is that when it comes to bike paint, Joe is Number 1 :)

How much did he charge you? ;)
I bet if you'd asked him for a decal, he would have put it on straight, too.

If it's like some of the Calfee paint jobs I have seen which I was not impressed with at all. I can probably assure you that the newbie's paint work it didn't look anything like this! Now this is Outstanding!

So what you're saying that you took it in for touch up work and pretty much got a new paint job in two days. Come up with a better story will you?
