Training & Nutrition - online training log?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Am trying to be smart about my training this year and have purchased a HRM...need to be in shape for my Colorado trip. Anyway, am looking for a training log, either downloadable software, or online resource, but have not been able to find one. Does anyone know of any? Thanks for the info. Zach

You can try this one out at:
www.crosstrak.com
I use it and like it a lot.
And.........it's free!
:D
Here's what I use: www.bikeprolog.com (http://www.bikeprolog.com) .
An Excel spreadsheet always works good if you're into that type of thing.
Thanks for the info, bikeprolog.com is a great site it is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again. Zach

Bike Logit ($25)
http://pegasussoftware.com/
"Bike Logit is a calendar-based training log for cyclists to plan, track, and analyze your cycling workouts. The program automatically calculates weekly, monthly, and year-to-date totals, giving users multi-variable graphs and statistics for analyzing their training. Bike Logit is highly flexible and customizable, allowing users to create their own categories, such as altitude gain or loss, weather, road conditions, body weight or heart rate.
In addition, Bike Logit keeps track of standard fields important to all cyclists: course, distance, time, speed, and comment."
Mike Sheppard, the author, is one of my old riding buddies from Portland Oregon and he's a long-time cyclist and runner and wrote the program for himself and then so many people wanted it he decided to make it a little better and sell it... it's been field tested and improved by many many athletes...

I highly recommend www.heartzones.com and the books by Sally Edwards and Sally Reed. Sally Edwards is one of the top fitness experts in the field with heart rate moniters, and she is a triathelete. When Polar first developed their heart rate moniter, they went to Sally Edwards to understand how to use it for training, and she wrote the book that accompanied the Polar Heart Rate moniters. Sally Edwards wrote over 30 books on heart rate moniter training, and she co-authored a book with Sally Edwards called "The Heart Rate Moniter Book for Outdoor and Indoor Cyclists". The book includes a whole training periodization training program for heart rate moniter training, and there is also a cd that comes with the book where you can download your information. I 200% recommend that if you are at all serious about heart rate moniter training, and you want to use the heart rate moniter to develop your fitness abilities and optimize your performance, you will stop by the site and buy some of her books and use the heart zone cycling training program with your heart rate moniter to develop your training program. The great thing about the program is that you can see Sally or her trainers anytime- they are always travelling around the country and are very accessible.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
