Should be an easy question: what's the maximum width tyre you can put on a 2009 Tricross Sport (rear tyre, if it matters), on the stock wheels? No fenders. Has anyone tried 45mm?

I've put 42's on one before, but I didn't measure them so no idea if they were really accurate with the sidewall. These barely fit.

The rear fits a 700/45 Boroughs XC with about 4mm clearance on either side. The tire measures 44mm across.
