Road Cycling - Bikesmart.com

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone ever buy a bike from here? Or anywhere online for that matter? Good or bad experience?
Thanks

I was going to buy a bike from competitivecyclist.com heard lots of good things about them, then I went to my LBS (well there is 5 here by my new house so I went to all 5 and out of the 5...) the owner matched whatever they had on there...Now for closeouts they can't help ya but if you had something in mind...
(not to mention I like bringing my bike in for tune ups)

*so to answer your original question I had 3 ppl tell me very positive things about www.competitivecyclist.com and I asked them a question and they answered it before I woke up the next day.

Used to have a LBS that always told me he'd match prices, just had to be willing to pay the same S&H.

Ya, we used the "check out" price to compare, I ended up going with a slightly lower end (not that a 3K bike is lower end in my mind) bike than what was on the site but I'm very happy with the price I got on it. (See sig for bike).

I got my Merckx here. My LBS couldn't touch the deal I got online. They told me to do so, in fact. But, I also bought two mtb's from my LBS, so I'm on friendly terms with them. They fined tuned my road bike for 7 dollars after it arrived...can't argue with that. Bike Smart ships it semi-assembled...it's still a good idea to have a local mechanic look it over, though. I had no problems with Bike Smart.
