Actually, one could have the dogs pulling their share. At least let them run (well trot rather) uphill.

It appears that they do if you look at their gallery. The dogs seem to end up chained to the side of the bikes on the steep climbs.

What the need to do is teach the dogs to pull them up the hill....now that would be impressive. But honestly Nancy I would rather tour with a dog than a couple kids anyday :)

We plan on touring with our dog soon. He's in between those two dogs' weight-size, by the looks of it. So, I'm feeling better about the prospect of my dog fitting in a trailer. :D We too, will have him run alongside us up larger hills, when we take him. We'll be riding our soon-to-arrive tandem and my wife is becoming more weary of the prospect of dragging the dog AND all his stuff around. So, here's hoping that the dog stays home. :D

I considered taking my 20 lb dog on our upcoming cross country tour - but decided against it. I figured the hassle of always making sure he was secure and safe would limit our destinations and freedom too much to make it worthwhile.
My wife wishes I would take him with me, he barks a little too much when I'm not around.

Our poodle has been with us on 3 short tours now. He's a peach. He rides in the milk crate and chills for many, many miles.
We got another now and I just started to condition her to the basket. They really keep the critters away from the tent!

Lol, that's a cute picture of them, they have a TON of stuff and those big furballs too. Can't imagine lugging those things up hills, lol.

Ive got a 210 Lb Mastiff. If I could figure out a way to get him on a trailer I would take him absolutely.

HA! I would love to tour with a dog - we had planned to take our (little) dog with us on this trip. That being said, I can't imagine lugging two fairly big dogs all over!

Just got a trailer for my dog and took him on it's maiden voyage today. He seems to like it. I didn't pick the trailer, it was gifted to me, so I'm not 100% about taking him on tour with it, but it's still a good starter trailer that will serve some purpose either way. Here's a picture, if I can get it to work...

How well do those plastic mag wheels hold up? Terribly? Depends on treatment? It's a rubber tire with tubes, but the wheels itself is plastic I think.

The two dogs I grew up with, lost them to old age. They were the best companions anyone could ask for :)
