OK, I spent the past 20 plus years riding running and at times swimming. I did my first triathlon in 1987.....I wish to return to the Triathlon world...I 've been doing Biathlons for ever. Problem I have no water......Is it possilbe to train and do OK with out actually swimming.....I do lift weights, do pushups and now shoulder stuff with bands......What if anything can I do to get ready for next year....

You need to find a pool. We have people drive 45 miles to our small town to swim in our 4 lane 25 yard pool.

if you can find an indoor rowing machine, thats a great place to start. i was a rower all though college, and i was suprised how much a rowing machine prepares your upper back and arms for swimming. that said, nothing is better than swimming to prepare for swimming.

No pools in New Jersey? Most community rec centers have pools and entry is usually $5-$10. My local rec center has discounts for buying packages of multiple entries.
