Having lived here for quite some time now, I can't remember Philly ever being particularly friendly to anyone.

Also,

Clark Stuart said her group doesn't believe any bike license plate would be bigger enough to identify riders.

Bigger enough? I love the Metro's top-notch journalism.

Yeah it's just hard to find them sometimes because they're so full of crazy-ass taxi drivers and double-parked cars.

Pedestrian deaths see cyclists targeted on the streets of Philadelphia

"It may take its name from two Greek words that combine to mean ‘brotherly love,’ but emotions are running high in Philadelphia following a series of collisions in the last month between cyclists and pedestrians.

The Philadelphia Inquirer said that those incidents resulted in the deaths of two pedestrians and left another with a fractured skull. And in two cases, the cyclists involved didn’t stop."

There is NO WAY that this will be passed! The economy is down so there has been a rise in bike commuting and the city now finds a way to regulate and tax this??! I feel awful for the families of the 2 recently killed pedestirans, but this backlash toward the cycling community is absurd. When you think about what actually needs to be done to lift Philly's image and make it a safer place, bike enforcement shouldn't even make the ****ing list!
