Anyone make something like this?

I want to pull the cantilever posts from my disc and canti capable fork, but I don't want big holes there. I'd like to know if anyone makes an aesthetically pleasing frame accessory to put in their place.

I don't think anyone has come up with that just yet. I would put some liberally greased stainless bolts in the hole. I think M6 is the size and threading.

Good idea. I'll hold out hope here that someone knows of something though.

New bikes come with plastic covers over these studs to prevent damage. They look aesthetically just fine. Your LBS may have some of these sitting around.

I don't want to cover the studs...I want to remove them and then fill the hole that they occupied.

Yes, there is such a thing. I used to stock them when I had a shop. They are a plastic threaded plug with a recessed hex head. If I remember correctly, they are made by Jagwire, but I can't seem to locate them in my catalogue right now. Check with your LBS.

M6 is the internal size of a brake post. He's asking about the hole that's left when you unscrew the post. There are 2 common sizes, M8 and M10

Not quite as nice but I found some black plastic hole plugs at Lowes last week that fit nicely in the threaded hole in the boss. (Switched from V-brake to disc on the front)
I think the actual size is M10 on my bike.

That's exactly what I was talking about.(The one in your link I mean.)

And be sure to grease them up well before installing the plugs. Unpainted threads make for a great party scene for rust.

Oh nevermind. Someone already posted them.

Just make sure you've got them well in there.
I've been told that the stud holes extend right to the insides of certain open-bath forks.

I think I might have found something better.

One of these metric socket screws. (http://www.boltdepot.com/product.aspx?cc=25&cs=127&cm=67&cd=1554)

Plus one of these metric chrome bolt covers. (http://www.boltdepot.com/images/catalog/bolt-cover-skull-large.jpg)

If it works like I think it will, it should look pretty good.

But think of all the extra weight over a plastic plug!

I was clearly not channeling my inner weight weenie when looking at this option. :D

Now my weight weenie sensibilities are in direct conflict with my sense of style. Look what you've done.

You've got to choose between 'Form follows function' and 'Looks are everything'.

I really wanted to use stainless steel socket set screws to plug the holes in my fork but then I remembered how much extra I spent to get the carbon fiber steerer instead of an aluminum one, all to save 40 grams. I had to go with plastic after that. I figure I gained 1-2mph (psychologically) with the weight savings.
