Framebuilders - Suitability of Nova OS tube set combo

Hello,
I've never built a bicycle frame before,but want to give it a shot.
I've started reading the Paterek book,along with the forums,and I am thinking of pulling the trigger on the tube/BB/lug set in the link below:

Question: Would this frame set likely give me that light/lively/sweet ride of a butted modern steel frame I've been reading about? OR might the oversize tubes give me a harsh ride? (I'm not a racer)and do not want the harsh ride of the sub $1000 aluminum bikes I have sampled.

This would be built into an aprox. 56cm/56cm frame.CS lenght of about 420mm,cheap Nashbar carbon/alum fork,using a basic 32 spoke 3x Mavic Open/Ultegra wheel set,and re-using my quite firm Brooks B-17 saddle.
My Nova tech question e-mails have gone unanswered.The gal on the phone said the guy I need has been ill,and is really backed up.


Current road bike: 1980 low/mid level 58cm Fuji Royale str.gage cromo main tubes,ridden primarily on paved bike trails.
Drop bars setup level with seat. Very short stem/high rise from sons old mtn bike.Top tube too long.


A bit about me,to maybe help with the question/suitability of the listed tube set:
In my early fifties, 5'-10.5",190+lbs. Good health/decent shape.
I been trying to maintain a 15 sometimes 18 mph clip on the old girl (avg.~14.7 on the computer),aprox. 10 to 20 mile rides 3 to 5 times/wk. 2000+ miles ridden in the last year or so.This is my second year riding regularly.(in a long time.)I love the rush of zipping along trying to extend the lengths of my little sprints,occasionally passing those young guys... for a little while... :-)

25 years industrial machinery repairman (multi-craft/jack of all trades environment).
Oxy/acet torch,small knee mill,12"x36"lathe,3'x5'x2''thick threaded steel inspection/build table, general shop tools,out in the garage.

I have some old frame tubing,and lugs to disassemble/clean,and practice the silver brazing if I go ahead with this project. I have industrial refrigeration compressor/condenser/evaporator change out's under my belt.The torch heat control experience may help with the tube and lugs I would hope.

First I would say if you want the ride of a steel bike use a steel fork.

That tubeset will do fine, it sounds like you have enough experience to have fun with this project from the get-go. My only advice is to not waste your time trying to unbraze and clean old lugs to the point of re-brazeability. You can buy an entire tubeset with lugs and bottom bracket from nova for $125. for this price you can build a complete practice bike before you build a keeper, even if you just make a front triangle for the mitering and brazing practice you will be left with a spare set of SS's and CS's for your real project. You know how it goes, as soon as you try something new you instantly want to do it again better, I.E.- don't try to build your best bike first.......trust me.

It seems the tube set is a least in the ballpark for my weight,and planned usage.

For safety,to see if my other welding/brazing,and soldering skills transfer over to silver brazing,I'll spend an extra $20 for a set of their stamped lugs. Miter some tube scraps,prep,braze,then take the band saw to 'em to check for complete penetration.
