Hey how's it going? I havent been active on these forums in a couple years minus a few random pop ins, but after my recent seperation from the military I want to get back into BMX. I been out of the scene for a while now and i don't know which companies are reputable (sp?) anymore. I cant believe how light bikes got over the last 4 years.

Heres what I am looking at ( in order ) :
- Fit STR Edwin Sig 2010
http://www.danscomp.com/101895.php?cat=BIKES
- Eastern Reaper 2010
http://www.danscomp.com/101587.php?cat=BIKES
- DK Aura 2010
http://www.danscomp.com/101255.php?cat=BIKES#

When I left the sport Fit was the big name, but things change and I just want to make sure i'm not buying garbage. Are these 3 selections any good? Any better suggestions for <700$.

Thanks for the help in advance, cant wait to get back into the game

At that price point, all three are very good. I would take either the Dk or the Eastern. Reason being, I like 990 mounts and having gyro tabs which they both have.

Between the two, I'd take the Eastern only because it have a shorter frame than the Dk.

I have always rode brakeless. so the no mounts and tabs are actually appealing to me. I like the other STR signature model fit offers right now, but it is LHD and i grind on my left, so i dont want that. plus the edwin has 4pc bars which i prefer.

Right on. Since you ride brakeless and don't need the mounts/tabs, I'd take the Edwin.

I like the 4pc bars also. I currently use an old pair of Standard 6 pc bars from the early 90's. Crazy stong bars.

Well i decided to go with the fit. I am going to order it with a ody MDS chainwheel hub guards from my LBS. are all the hub guards generally the same or should i order a particular set? they match danscomp's prices and typically keep ody. fit, shadow, and quite a few other brands in stock.

You just have to make sure the hub guard will fit your hub, but other than that they're mainly the same, except for the Gland.

Picking up my bike tommorow or Thursday. I got the Fit Edwin and a Ody MDS sprocket (both pieces)and four hub guards. ill put pics in the bike check thread after i cut down my bars, trim off the lip on the grips, and peel off my stickers
