Hi all,
Due to having a few problems with my left crank arm coming loose all the time (Truvativ Isoflow, square taper) I'm considering changing the whole set up.
I've been looking at hollowtec type cranks, and the compatable BB's, but my bike currently has the non-external bearings set up.

I have a 68mm frame.
Can I change the set up, and if so, do I only need the crankset and BB?

Thanks

And you might need the fame faced as well.

Also, cranks don't just come loose all the time. It was likely not tightened down enough once, and the hard steel BB spindle started rounding out the square aluminum hole in the crank, then it couldn't ever get tight enough.

Tighten everything to spec. on your new setup to prevent it from happening again.

Jive, I'm on my second crank arm, which has been anally treated to the most scrupulous fitting session, cleaning, torqued, threadlocked etc etc.... after it was replaced under warranty.
Its happened again, so I'm changing the whole set up.

I too am replacing my BB and Crankset. I scored a nice Ultegra SL crankset (FC-6601) and matching BB. What I am now trying to figure out is how much of my remaining drivetrain needs replacement. I have an older Shimano 600 7-speed rear cassette and Shimano 600 derailleurs that work just fine. Any advice?

Maybe provide less information on what your plan on doing.

Hmm, well if your suggestion is to provide LESS information on what I am doing, how is that really going to help me? I thought the point of these forums was to HELP and BE HELPED. Usually, it is my experience that too little, not too much information is the problem. Please explain, as this is my very first post to this forum and I am perplexed as to what I should do.
