I have a titanium (Merlin) frameset with a Reynolds Ouza fork that I am finally getting ready to replace the headset. It is an integral CaneCreek. I am taking out the original IS and replacing it with an IS-6 stainless. Should anything like Ti-Prep be put around the interface of the new SS bearing-set and the Ti headtube bevel? Seems to me on the one hand a good idea to prevent corrosion, but don't want to gunk up the bearings either.

Ti prep anything that hits the frame. Bearings you can use regular grease.

Ti prep is useful for any threaded fasteners like bottom bracket cups, rear derailleur bolts, etc. and for Al seatposts. For the headset bearings, I'd just use regular grease. The bearings are cartridges so the races are part of the cartridge and grease is the proper lube.

When I assembled my Ti frame I used the Frame Prep silver grease from Finishline.

if it uses the stainless steel inserts like Litespeed(American Bicycle Group)just use grease.
