Fifty Plus (50+) - Were the number of posts always listed?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just noticed that the number of posts is listed for each person. Was this always there, or is it one of the new changes? Wish I hadn't seen it. Now my competitive juices have me wondering how much time it would take to post thread replies and new threads to put me in the same numbers league with some of you all.

I think that it depends on whether or not you have a life aside from BF.

As I recall, in the past, the posts were available in BF member's profile under "statistics." But they were not posted in each thread.

It's the funny thing about this "upgrade;" they've changed a number of UI issues and design issues to "fix" things that didn't necessarily need fixing.

When I first joined BF the number of posts was listed, if I remember correctly.

I'm just replying so I can see my post count without having to look at my profile. ;)

Yes. Way back in the old days the post count was shown.

If you went to someone's profile, the number of posts showed up.

There are some high numbers here.

Edit: I see I'm not one of them :)

Yes, they were until the competition to be one of the top posters lead to too many one word posts. There were threads entitled +1 post count. It got to be a mess and the admins took the post count off. I predict history will repeat itself.

We've seen your profile and have to agree that it is preferable not to see it too often:innocent:

They used to be listed on the profile only.

Plus FWIW, Foo posts don't count.

AND as far as bulletin boards go, each is different. I am amazed at how much work and effort the proprietors put into the conversion, and how well it works and how much function they were able to retain. There's still a glitch here and there, but hey, there's always a glitch here or there.

If I had a dollar for every post I could buy some new wheels

Just wait until pcad gets a cross bike, turns 50, buys a BMX and gets the sex change... his post count will double.

Yup. I remember folks posting nothing but a dot.

My posts are often just as worthless but they do, at least, contain words.:D

Here's a post being bored, which is not necessarily the same thing as a boring post.
