I ordered this flashlight twice within the last year.

First time - got it, loved it.
Second time, got it, still love it... but no memory mode. When I turn it off/on, it goes into the next mode in the sequence. Don't know if this is a defect or what.
Can anyone recommend a similar light - perhaps with no strobe-modes - that definitely has mode memory?
Thanks...
Sounds like typical DX rubbish quality control. After my DX light died an early death I bought an MC-E light from Shining Beam, which has memory and no strobe. It ships from the US too. It's currently sold out, but he usually has them back in stock pretty quickly.

I agree with Ziemas, the SB Mc-e light is great.. If you are looking for a simple light with no strobe or sos mode, the Xtar P7 from Lighthound is pretty good.. Smaller form factor than most other P7's and just 2 modes.. High and Lo..

If you only turn them for a moment, they interpret that as mode change. Leave them of for 2 secs and it should come back on at HI. But then again it is what it is. This one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12325 is the same light with 2 modes.

The Xtar light is a little shorter in length, right at 129mm..
