Are the insides of the frame chromed as well? I mean inside of seat tube, bb, headtube etc.
I remembered that chroming involves dipping the frame in some liquid and passing current through it, which makes me wonder if the insides are chromed as well.
thanks

I pulled out my 04 pista seatpost last night, and it doesn't seem that the interior of the seat tube has the same finish as the exterior. light was bad, so i couldn't swear, but it seemed the chrome only went a few mm into the seat tube. i don't know what that means...maybe the chrome is cheaply painted on, maybe the seat tube is plugged when the chroming takes place. any enlightening info on the chroming process would be welcomed, because i'm thinking of stripping the clear coat and decals off my bike and would really like to know what would happen to the chrome if i do so. well worst case scenario, i get to repaint the frame, eh?

i don't think you'd want to chrome the insides of the bb...wouldn't that mess up the threads?

I guess they have to protect the threads, or chase them after chroming. Same is true for the part of headtube where the headset sits. But chroming the rest of BB and insides of other tubes cannot be a bad thing, right? since chroming the insides prevents rust.
