I am looking at getting some new tires. I came across the MAXXIS XENITH UN CATEGORIE TIRE for $9 a piece. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these tires. The tires I have been saving up for are the Vredestein Fortezza Tri Compe in a 700X25. Is there a huge difference in quality, performance, anything? The $30-40 difference in price per tire is a lot. Just wondering..... Any replies would be helpful.

I recently switched to Maxxis ReFuse 700x23c and so fare they have been very nice...no flats as of the switchover. :)
FWIW, I'd like to try their Detonator line for my new bike...get the blue ones, pretty cool looking IMO.

I don't know much about the Fuse. It's their training tire, right? How long have your tires lasted?

How do you like the Fortezza Tricomps? I am thinking that I might just give in and spend the extra money, rather than feel like I am skimping by on the Xeniths.

actually, i ordered them on the 3rd and apparently they still havent shipped out yet :o :D
my friend, though, has a pair. they look great... the casing seems really nice and supple... quality stuff. durability is very high for a race-type tire. hes got a huge gash on the shoulder of the rear... but that says more about his riding conditiions than quality of tire, imo
