Foo - Never underestimate the power of.......

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Never underestimate the power of.......
fill in the blank>> The inability of people to follow the simplest requests.
and discuss>> Everyone after the OP until this post, totally failed to DISCUSS*. I think that when the request is simple, people tend to under read and assume. The Termite King wanted to know what your feelings were on the matter, not just a one word reply.
*One exception where one poster discussed but failed to fill in the blank!
I've probably just set myself up here to be targeted. :(

Belief in oneself.
For with that belief you can find the power within to be strong enough to achieve your goals.

fear
Didn't feel like getting all P&R-like but I was thinking of the previous administrations use of fear to affect public opinion (i.e., terror alerts).

OK, for real...
The power of a smile
You change a persons mood, attitude, demeanor, etc. often with a simple smile. I work in a medical facility that treats our veterans. I do not work in a medical profession however, and I do not work directly with our patients. However I always amke sure I greet every one I pass, stand in an elevator with, or stand in line with in the canteen (but not in the bathroom). Your smile can make a stranger who's feeling worried or concerned, less so and in a small way lift some of their anxiety. Your smile is a recognition of that person, making them realized that they are noticed, and are somebody. Sometimes a smile will get a glare or look away in return, that the other persons problem not yours. Give them them out freely, they cost nothing but are worth a lot.
^this^ Thanks for posting that Gitarzan.

I love, at work, smiling big and little old ladies and men. They are expecting you are only paying attention to the cute young girls, and then you surprise them with a big unadulterated free smile!!! Sometimes with chili breath...or maybe hummus breath.

As long as you don't work in a gorilla enclosure. :D.
Never underestimate the power of a shower after a trying day. It sounds stupid but I immediately feel better, especially when travelling. It makes you feel you are here in the present, not scattered all over the place.

Faith in God
It has resulted in incredible good: Hospitals, education, caring, generosity, freedom of mind, strength and direction in horrible times.
BUT it can result in Bombings, hatred, arrogance, judgement, fear, slavery, oppression-
It has brought our world true heros-Mother Theresa, Billy and now Franklin Graham, Tony Compolo. And Scoundrels, Al Queda, Jim Jones, Polygamist cults,
Feel free to add to either list.

I stopped paying attention to "cute young girls" 40 years ago. Women do it waaaaaaaaay better.

I had never seen that, so thanks for educating me. In the long run, were kids better or worse off because of the little lady? She can be moved to the villain list if you want to.
