I got a pair of these:

http://www.nashbar.com/profile_moreimages.cfm?category=104&subcategory=1194&sku=8047&brand=

I am a little unclear as to how to install them, just because I can't imagine that they work like end plugs (by wrapping the end of the bar tape in the bars). But they are loose and the the adjusting screw does not seem to affect how tight the hold is.

Help?

Leslie

Same as bar cons... You've got to get them tight enough before inserting that they touch the inside of the bar... otherwise, there's not enough friction to tighten against once they're in place. If you hold the silver bit still and turn the tightening screw, you'll see how they work...

looks like what you have there are time trial bar end brakes for bullhorns. If you are using those for a tri-bike that's fine, however you may have some problems fitting them onto mountain bike h'bars. I believe the O.D. of MTB bars are a bit wider (clamp size is usually 31.8mm) which would consequently make the inner diameter bigger as well. Set screws on levers might be only for a 25.4/26mm, traditionally found on road and tri bars.

that's my guess, check with your mech to find out for sure, hope this helps.

Cheers

Yeah, they are w/ TT bars--which are the complimentary bars from the same company--and have a 26 mm O.T.
