[performance wise at least]

34.4 miles averaging 22.1mph. We had perfect riding weather yesterday, temps between 85 and 95, very slight breeze, a few clouds ... for anyone in Utah me and my friend started at the overlook on the alpine loop on the AF side, went up around and down the sundance side (set a new personal top speed down that hill at 53mph on the dot ^_^) then through provo canyon, down university and into provo, then followed kuhni road (runs paralel to 9th E) into springville then back into provo. And what's more I got a decent nights sleep and feel like I could do the same ride again today! :)

I love a good ride too! especially when you can sleep that night.

Wow. That's insane! I average anywhere from 18.1 to 18.9 (at the end of the ride). I am trying to get my average up to 19.2 Congrats!

I wish there was a way to remove the average speed function from bike computers, it doesnt mean anything.

This is true to a certain extent, but it's still useful. I wish there was a way to display average speed over distance instead of just over time

Then just calculate your speed yourself:
mph = total_miles / (total_riding_minutes/60)

do cyclocomputers not just take the total miles/ total time? Mine does some wierd stuff sometimes, like I will watch it go up a notch, say from 21 to 21.1, and I will ride for a few minutes at a speed of say 24 without ever going below 22 and the average will actually drop to 21 again. hmmm...

after a 5-8 mile 'warm up' and the stoplights, avg's of 21mph are really hoofing it around here. that sounds like a ride many go on vacation to experience.

That's one of the things I love about Utah ... on the entire Ride I had to go through a total of maybe 10 stop lights ... most of them within about 2 miles of each other, and the lights are synchronized so if you can keep up with the normal flow of traffic you'll hit them green
