View Full Version : Easy To Do.....Big Improvement.
I think there will be a chorus that will agree with me when I say that their needs to be a limit to the size of the "quote box." Right now when anyone clicks reply they automatically paste the thread you are replying to. That is good except for the fact that it can make a thread very long.
It would be niced if the quote box would be limited to taking up only a couple of vertical inches on the screen. I mean, i think once people read the first few sentences, everyone knows what they are replying to. This would make reading some of these threads, far less dizzying.
Look at this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?p=560636#post560636) of you want an example. I nearly had an epileptic seizure with all of the scrolling!

I changed the reply link to not quote, and put in a quote link in blue, let me know what you think.
ran into problems with the code in PM's, I'll continue to work on it.

You don't know how to edit out the info you don't want repeated using the delete and backspace keys? I do it all the time.

I fully agree with RonH on this method. I,too, edit the post
to focus on the core meaning to keep the server use to a
minimum. To not edit is, well........Lazy.

On AOL email (and I would guess other clients), you need to highlight those areas you want to have showing as quoted, before clicking "reply".
Therefore, it requires a positive effort to have material quoted show, rather than getting everthing quoted at a click.
Is this possible? The replier must highlight the material to be shown on the "quote" box?

Ron,
I sure do. However i also don't speed very often but there are still a lot of police on the road. ;) (think about that one) Joe, I think you are on the right track. I have already noticed shorter threads.
