And it wasn't even on my bike. I was walking The World's Most Irritating Dog™ along an icy path on Saturday when she took off after a killer-squirrel and pulled me down on one knee. Did I hurt my knee? No, but something on the right side of my rib-cage went twang as if I'd been punched by someone who knows how. It didn't hurt that bad on Sunday, nor was it especially painful on Monday but since then it's been getting worse and now I can barely lift anything heavier than a sock.

Please don't tell me to HTFU, I've been cursed with a pain allergy. I hate being hurt and I want sympathy. And beer. Maybe some potato chips too.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe your ribcage got dislocated. Those really suck and hurt.

Not even in the saddle, for shame. Heal up.

You do realize, most people won't know what you're on about here. :):)Grin.

I suspect it's nothing that dramatic but it does sound way cool so I think I'll start telling people that's what I've done.

My mom broke her arm walking the dog. Same deal - slippery roads & and a little pull/tug on the leash.

Heal up fast!

Strained or torn intercostal muscle....time and rest. And as for the dog....um, training? heal quickly.

Rest and you will feel better in no time. :)
I prescribe alcohol for the pain. :D

Way to go Bike forums. Nothing like eliminating my posts as to why I hate dogs.

Ouch, Connell, try an anti-pull harness on the doggie? I use one on my Dog That Never Stops Pulling.

I did hurt myself yesterday on the bike. The last 10 miles just about killed me. I pulled something in my knee; hopefully it's just a muscle pull and not something actually wrong with the knee.

That's what it's sounding like. Bugger.

See...she can walk beautifully to heel when she wants to. But she's a husky mix and once something small, furry and moving appears on the scene, all bets are off. She's nine now and I've given up trying to train that prey drive out of her. For the most part, her pulling doesn't bother me. I just don't do well on ice.

A man after my own heart. Bloody Mary for breakfast as we speak.

No worries there. I have a 1.5 liter bottle of Stolichnaya a-coolin' in the freezer. Want a stick of celery in it or anything?

I don't give a ****, as long as I feel no pain after drinking it. I might mention that I haven't had a drop of alcohol in almost 2 years.

Then after a couple of doses of Dr. Connell's patent Bloody Mary Elixir of life, I can pretty much guarantee you won't be feeling much of anything. Sláinte

I thought the stitches would be all sore and throbby today but it seriously doesn't hurt any worse than a paper cut. Looks like hell though; a lot of dead blood trapped in there at the moment.

What the hell did you cut yourself on?
