I ran into this couple on Sunday as they road through town and I thought I would share:

On 01.06.2003 we started our tour around the world in Limburg, a small city about 80 Km north of Frankfurt in Germany. Our plans were to travel around the world with our bicycles (and somertimes with a folding canoe or our packrafts) within 3 or 4 years. The reason for this tour is to see the world with our own eyes, instead of believing the bad news on TV. We are going to to meet the people in every country, to built up our own opinion, and so far we have only very good experiences.

Aren't these guys great? I just saw their site for the first time a few months ago. I love the canoe idea. What a great combination of gear to give you real freedom to explore the 'wild places'

Admirable feat.. It's much better to size up the many peoples of the world through you own eyes, instead of being dependent upon others ' interpretations. What news comes across the TV tube is suspect... I'd love to be in their shoes.. .
