So I have an aluminium frame that needs a fresh coat of paint. Does anyone know of any (inexpensive) powder coaters in the city? I haven't had much luck finding a large parts painter who'd be willing to take on a single frame for less than 120 with stripping. If anyone's had any luck besides the standard places (http://communities.canada.com/montrealgazette/blogs/ontwowheels/archive/2009/01/23/a-trip-to-the-bike-painter.aspx), let me know. Thanks!

Just a sugestion but have you tride a few body shops that do custom car work. I know this sounds fare off but I've heard of some shops in ontario doing this so try your luck with them.

Local builder Phil Barge gets all of his frames powdercoated. Get in touch with him and he'll probably direct you. If not, he has a relationship with belleville cycle so they may be able to help you out

Hey Defrag, how much did it cost to get that paint job done?

As a short run powder coater (based in ON) the stripping is your challenge. Honestly at $120 you've already got a decent price. I would charge $50 flat rate for the Powder coating if it's stripped and ready to go. The stripping I would want to be compensated by the hour plus materials, Actually, I would typically prefer it just go out to s stripping shop and have it done in a submersion tank.
Get a separate quote for stripping, that may help - unless the first guy is not actually outsourcing (which is likely).

Indigo runs about 200 per frame.
