Bicycle Mechanics - FSA Carbon Crank + Ultegra BB is making noise on new bike

I picked up a Fuji TeamSL that has that FSA Carbon Pro and Ultegra Bottom bracket.
It only has about 200 miles on it and already I took it back for them to tighten the crank arm bolt..
but now, it's making a tick and tock tapping sound as I pedal and put some good pressure when I'm out of the saddle going uphill. Like i hear a "Tick" when I pedal down on my left side,, then hear the "Tock" as I come back up, and pedal down on the right side... something has to be loose.

I am worried that the crank and BB might not be heafty enough for my use and weight, or if it's a bad setup.

All the stuff is under warranty, so I can go to the bike shop and tell them to fix it if needed, but i don't know what I'm dealing with.. any suggestions?

It is probably the BB. Take it back in and tell them that you think that is what is creaking. It is not a big deal to pop off the cranks and pull it out. It may not be tight, and it was probably installed dry (Not the shops fault, it is installed in Tiawan) I also like to use teflon pipe tape on the threads, it really helps with the creaking.

First, get really pissed off with your present job. Then say "screw the money" and go to work in a bike shop with a good head mechanic :)

I think books are the way to go. I like that you can reference something quickly where with video you would need to search around to find anything. Video would be good for seeing exactly how to do something tho.

yeah, I just bought a lemond titanium bike on thursday...and already within the 75 miles Ive ridden since, my entire ultegra system is shot. My bottom B makes this noise as well, it sometimes even clicks more than once, and I am not lying... plays the star wars theme!!! da-da-da-da-dada-da-dada. I almost went mad because I had to ride it home for another 25 miles!!!

maybe there are broken..loose or missing bearings in your bb...check that out..its weird hearing that from ultegra bb's...i had a dura ace bb and it would make the same noise n stuff..switched to a ultegra it was fine..but when i got my fsa team issue cranks..i switched to a fsa isis drive bb to match..i didnt want to risk anything

I had a similar issue on my Fuji Roubaix. LBS said "it's shot, man. you have to replace it." I decided to go back to the other not so LBS where I got the bike from: "oh, it's probably just lose. You know, installation from the factory." He had his apprentice pop it out, clean it, reinstall it, retighten it. It works better than ever now. Get a second opinion before replacing it.

I had the same sound on my Fuji Team SL. I found that the end tab on the front derailuer cable was being clipped by the crank.
