Hi all, I finally decided to get a computer for my bike, saved up about $300 to spend, what do you recommand? I want something looks good and functional, can you list out your favor brand? thank you

I use a Sigma Sport RDS 1200. it does all I need and is digitally wireless. I got it on sale @ Nashbar for $32+s/h.it does the speed,odometer,avg. speed as well as max.and compare,trip time &distance,clock, stop watch and a settable trip segment for setting a distance goal up or down. for the kind of $ you have saved you can get built in heart rate, downloadable,cadence and all kinds of other bells and whistles.

You don't need all that crap on a MTB! If you really want to put a computer on your MTB just get a CatEye Enduro 8 It's got a heavy duty wire, enough functions and is cheap enough that when you lose it (or break it) and you will.... it won't hurt to replace it.

Yep, stuff breaks. What do you ride?, 300 bucks might make it fly with a little Ti.
I'd spend the cash on Ti h-bars and a cheaper computer.

Or a few deraillers\ hangers.

hi all, I thought they were expensive, after I check on some of the websites, they cost around under 50 bucks, how come the lbs ask for 90, am i ran into the wrong store?

by the way 300 bucks is what I saved, I just bought a hydration pack MULE, that took away 85 bucks. only 215 left

Right at the moment I've tacked a Garmin etrex GPS to the handlebars with a mount. Works like a champ.
I can set waypoints, follow a route, leave a "breadcrumb" trail to follow back if i get turned around.
For $100, plus 14 for the mount, you absolutely can't go wrong. And
its waterproof. It's da bomb.....
