hey guys,
does anyone how bad bike theft is in yosemite by chance? i was thinking of keeping them locked up inside my station wagon while i was gone. also, has anyone every cycled around the valley floor? worth it? no?
any other opinions/comments appreciated :)

It has been a few years, but I have cycled in the valley. Some really great routs.
As for theft, can you drive yourself into the vally any more? I thought they were going to shuttle busses only, unless you were camping.
I think theft would be like just about anyplace else, lock it up.

Not certain, but I locked two bikes on a hatch rack w/ a cable lock w/ out incident. Also locked them at a few trailheads w/ the same lock. The bikes weren't expensive, though.

I've biked in the valley and it's great. The valley floor bike path is a nice ride, but fairly low intensity and not terribly long.
But, bikes are the perfect way to get around the valley either on the paths or road. You're out in the open, can go faster when cars are slow (and traffic is BAD in summer) or go slow when cars are fast, stopping whenever. Plus you're doing your little part not to contribute to the increased air pollution there.
