My girlfriend and I are moving there in the spring. She’ll be doing her Master’s at ECU and I’ll probably be working near Vanceboro. I’m a 100% commuter, and would strongly prefer to remain that way. She’s a 10% commuter who would like to get to at least 50%. We would like to find something out in the middle of nowhere, but of course tolerable roads are not optional and I’m really looking forward to really upping my mileage on old country roads. Something southeast of town seems logical if I end up having to ride to Vanceboro a few days a week.

What say the locals?
