No, we don't talk like we're from Texas up here. Even though I am from Texas.
It's the you can take the Texan out of Texas, but....
Mostly, it's a way to set myself apart with all the folks up here. I grew up here in Utah, even though
I was born in Texas and have lived there since graduating college. Then moved back to Salt Lake.
Anyway, I'd like to take the time to introduce myself.
I am a, sometimes, Cat 3 racer, and sorta coach. I'm also a USA Cycling official. New to officiating this year. It's pretty fun, and it's a good way to stay in touch with the cycling community while I finish my
2nd Bachelors degree.
2nd Bachelor's degree? Yup, job market sucked when we moved back up here. Got tired of looking
for a dead end job. Decided it was time to get a degree in something I like, Chemistry. I just finished my first year Chem courses. Tougher than expected. Or maybe it's the 7 years since I finished my 1st degree? I don't know. Regardless, it's tough.
I help out with our Jrs up here. My club has about 11 of the buggers. Man they're fast. Good kids too. My wife helped start that program. So, when I'm not studying, going to class, or trying to find a meaningful part-time job, I'm either officiating or helping with the kids.
Been married almost 7 years. Can't believe my wife still likes to have me around. I'm a bit of a hemorrhoid when it comes to no job. To get an idea of how I feel you can vist www.oddtodd.com he's pretty well sums up how I feel about the job situation.
Anyway, I'm pretty easy going. I enjoy riding the bike, working with the kids, officiating, and just plain hanging out sometimes.
I may mention our 2 dogs (miniature wiredhair dachshunds), once in awhile. They're couple a really ferocious ankle biters. They love people, seem to enjoy bike races, or more likely the bites they get at bike races from the kids, the racers, the people at the feed zone, the other officials. They like attention too. But prefer a bite or 2, or 3, or 4....
Anyway, sorry to bore y'all. Hope you're having fun on the bike. Remember to keep the rubbersdie down.
