I'm talking low-maintenance steel garage doors. Now I have a proper backdrop.
Nice - and what a coincidence, we just had a new one put up last week. Our garage is only a single and a half but the new door is exactly like one of yours. Great minds think alike.

I don't see how this arrangement would work for a tandem. You need to get a contractor in to remodel your garage so you have a double garage door, instead of two singles. That way you'll have a nice clean backdrop for a tandem or bent.

That's the primary reason I've held off acquiring a bent. My wife doesn't cotton to riding bikes so a tandem isn't in my future. A coworker took an incredible 7 week tandem ride cross country (Seattle - Wash. D.C.) with his wife a couiple years agol. He's now divorced.

You realize of course that you can't photograph a white bike in front of those. The red one "pops" nicely, though!

Now I know why I occasionally see low-mileage custom tandems available for sale at unbelievably low prices.
Those doors are insulated, aren't they?

The shot ended up being much better framed than I anticipated. I avoided using my white Paramount :).

Yes, the room above the garage tends to get too cold in winter. They're R factor 14. Together with additional attic insulation and a new heat pump the top floor should be much more comfortable.
Sheesh, another "nothing goes up and down like steel" thread :P

Perhaps that is why I am still married- the wife Refuses to get on the T. And have to agree Don't ever get a white bike.

:lol:I'd have to flip a coin to answer that, but after paying for the door I have no coin.

Looks as if the driveway just had the annual seal coat as well. You went all out!
Wow. Usually getting doored is a bad thing.
Aw, man. I'm going to miss your photos with all the curb appeal. They always made the property (bikes or otherwise) look so enticing.

I was thinking carbon fiber in a nice 12k weave. I wonder what power garage door motor would be needed.

I'll still do the curb shots - they help sell my flip bikes. Here's a Fuji that donated a leather Belt saddle and alloy drop bars. I tore her completely down, rebuilding, lubricating, polishing, and waxing as I rebuilt her. I took extra time because I'm selling her cheap to my car repair shop (Volvo specialists). They know me as the bike guy since I always cycle to work after dropping off a car. It never hurts to keep your service providers (car or LBS) in a good mood.
