Commuting - Yet Another Tire Question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I followed the "What are the best tires for commuting?" thread with great interest, but it didn't answer all my questions. I have a mtb with 26" x 1.5" wheels. What is the narrowest size I can (or should) use? I'm looking for a tire with reflective sidewalls, low rolling resistance, a generator track in the sidewall, and puncture resistance. The only tire mentioned in the previous thread with all those attributes is the Schwalbe Marathon Plus. They're a little pricey. Are there any others? If not, which ones have reflective sidewalls?
Thanks.

michelin makes the transworld city with reflectives, but i can't vouch for their quality.
nokian is coming out with the aws, which comes in a reflective and non reflective version. it should be available in a couple months if i remember correctly.

Konasmoker, thanks for the response. I may go take a look at the Michelins. My current tires have sidewall damage, and I need something now.
Thanks.

I have transworld city's on a MTB. I like them, but am quite worried about how long they'll last - the tread tends to pick up small bits of glass and sand and even small rocks. Popping these out, you can see small tears in the rubber.
Tires with good dynamo tracks are hard to fine. Other than the Schwalbe, the Vredestine Trigger and Spider, come to mind, ad does the Continental Top Touring.
My frequency of flats was ten times highte with the Vredestine; have not tried the Continental. Given that my Vredestines had to be replaced at least yearly due to multiple holes, the Schwalbe may be cost-effective as well.
To my knowedge, only the Schwalbe satisfies all your critertia.

Two words: Geax Evolution.
A few more words: 15,773km between flats on the one set of tyres.

I went with the Schwalbe Marathon's. After riding them a couple of weeks, I like them so far. The only problem I had was pinch flats caused by installation. Not the tire's fault. Hopefully, they are tough enough that I won't need to be doing many flat repairs. They seem to have lower rolling resistance than my last set of slicks. And I really like the reflective sidewalls. Thanks, everyone for the suggestions.
