Commuting - ThieAir Zound Gone!!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Someone stole my Air Zound. I left my bike downstair at my apartment building. They stole the Air Zound but left the cyclometer and lighting. Go figure. Well, at least I hope they will use it.

I hope they use it within earshot of you, so you can track them down and get it back...
The crazy things people steal is beyond me. I take everything off my bike no matter how insignificant it seems. People are always rolling their eyes as they wait for me when I take off bike lights, seat bags, etc., but I at least still have everything.
Sorry to hear about your Air Zounds. Seriously, it's like madpoque said- as soon as the idiot uses it, you'll be able to get it back!

Someone stole my Air Zound.
Someone at work stole my cycle computer.
I always take it off and put it away, but at the end of the day I put it on 1 minute before I swiped out at the clock, and my bike was just out of sight, so someone must have just been going by at that exact moment to have the chance to take it.
What's even better is it was taken in a secure area at the airport so if I caught the guy he would have automatically lost his job. All for a $20 thing that won't work unless he has the correct connecting bracket and sensor set up (that he could probably buy for $15)
What a goof.

I see people carrying their seats around. A few years ago I spent $10 on a simple cable that connects the seat to the stays.
Do any of y'all do the same?
I have a thin kryptonite cable to hold my cheap sweaty seat down.
I'm sorry for your lost funbun, but when I read your post, I couldn't help but imagine you standing there staring at your bike screaming a german accent, "Thie Air Zound! Zees Gone!!"

And in my best Sgt. Shultz voice "I know nothing, nothing at all".

My cable goes through the back wheel, frame, front wheel (removed) and seat rails.

Do any of y'all do the same? Those seat leashes are about US$4-5 here. What's nice is that your seat is still QR so you can adjust height if needed, but you'd still need a tool to completely remove it from the bike (just like a non-QR seat). You don't ever need to thread a lock cable thru it when you park. You don't need a special tool or key to adjust the seat. It basically combines the best functional features of a QR and a non-QR seat. And yes, I put them on ALL my QR seats.
