Recumbent - Anybody converted a Rans dual 20" to 26" rear?

Any speed gains? How do you like it?

Hi, Sergio -
I would think that a rear wheel conversion would be unlikely, without significant frame mods. I know people have converted 20" fronts to 26"; success seems dependent on the geometry of the bike in question.
My V3 came as a dual 26"; I like it very much so far.
I suspect that there will not be enough clearance for a 26" wheel and tyre on a RANS designed for a 20" rear.

I can fit a 26" wheel in the dropouts of my VRex24 - just barely. Unlike most older RANS, I have a rear disc brake; so the brakes wouldn't be a problem, either. Of course it'd need a new fork. I've never figured it was worth the effort.

I agree. Perhaps the only way to do it without significant frame modification would be to convert it with a Terracycle Cargo Monster kit:

and then the extra weight and geometry changes would make a comparison irrelevant.
